Link Guide recommends

Start by following a mentor. Then choose an objective that fits the mode you want to play today. The sections below explain practice drills and the rules of the side activities.

02

FIND YOUR WAY & PLAY TOGETHER

Open the map. Find your pitch.

CENTRE

Central plaza

The Terrace connects the districts and the Clubhouse.

FRANCE

Montclair

Street Football and Kickabouts.

ARGENTINA

Zeiza

Another district to explore.

GREAT BRITAIN

Parkside

This is where you will find 11v11 Drop-in.

[16]

Start an activity

  1. Open the map and select an activity.
  2. If available, select Travel; otherwise, walk to the pitch.
  3. Read the rules board, enter the queue area and select Play to join.
  4. Wait for enough players to join.

[5]

White dots mark other players, blue marks your Club and pink marks your party. Travel takes you to Street Football and Kickabout pitches. [16]

PLAY TOGETHER

Find your Club

After the tutorial, meet Dybala at the Clubhouse, marked by the house icon. Create a Club, join one or accept an invitation there. Find Stadium Rush in Zeiza and 11v11 Drop-in in Parkside. [1]

Playing with friends & crossplay

Invite friends to a party through EA Connect to enter the same Grounds world. PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S share a crossplay pool. Switch 2 is not part of that crossplay pool. [16]

Start Club leagues and playoffs at the Clubhouse. Ranked Rush and 11v11 Drop-in have separate entry points. [16]

Link Guide recommends · Check your platform, party and chosen mode before joining the queue.

03

CHOOSE YOUR MATCH

Street Football, Rush & Kickabouts.

1v1 / 2v2 / 3v3

Small teams

Three-minute matches with manual shooting and fully assisted passing. 1v1 uses a CPU goalkeeper; 2v2 and 3v3 use small goals without a goalkeeper. [2]

WORLD RUSH / STADIUM

Know the different formats

World Rush is one of the small-sided formats. Stadium Rush and 11v11 use separate matchmaking. [2]

Kickabouts have their own win conditions. Check the rules board at the pitch for the current round.

Bocce Ball3 players. Smaller target zones award more points; Dead Zones deduct points.Control your shot power and check the dangerous zones first.
Balloon Ball4 players with 3 balloons each. Hit opponents; losing all your balloons eliminates you.Move out of the direct line of fire after attacking.
BucketballScore 2 points from close range or 3 from beyond the three-point line.Weigh up a safer close-range attempt against a harder long-range shot.
The Big RaceDribble the ball through the obstacle course to the finish.Slow down before tight turns.
Team Keep Away3v3: possession earns points and passes increase the multiplier.Create passing triangles instead of having everyone chase the ball.

Goal Control1v1: capture goals to earn points while you hold them. Opponents can take them back.Protect a goal you hold when it comes under threat.

If there are not enough players, check the queue and busy locations on the map. Read any additional rules before joining a live event. [5]

04

YOUR PRO, YOUR STYLE

Find your archetype.

Masteries provide permanent bonuses across all archetypes. For example, Finisher at level 10 gives +1 Finishing and +1 Composure. The table lists mastery attributes; it does not imply that every build unlocks them at the same level. [2]

All archetypes are available from the start. Switch between them and experiment without having to unlock a new type first. [4]

Try an archetype for several matches. Pay attention to your first touch, passing and contribution to the team. This table shows attributes; we do not have a verified ranking of the strongest builds.

05

XP, ATTRIBUTES & USES

Develop your Pro with a clear goal.

AXP

Play matches and complete objectives

Matches and Grounds objectives award Archetype XP. Instant AXP applies to your currently active archetype. An item's level limit is not the overall level cap for that archetype. [4]

BUILD

Reallocate your points

Reduce individual attributes step by step and reassign the points; no reset item or Coins are required. In the League lobby, move to the bench, then open Player Management → Archetypes. In Rush/Drop-in, use the Archetypes tab. [4]

Check objectives before you play

Mentor, daily, weekly and event objectives can award AXP, season progress and items. Work on similar objectives together. [1]

Link Guide recommends · Choose a suitable activity and check the objective, deadline and required teammates before starting.

Amps: equip, use and store them

Archetypes → Amps: two standard slots and one Signature slot. Amps can boost attributes, PlayStyles or Perks. The additional Affinity bonus only applies to a matching archetype. [6]

  • Completing an eligible match consumes one use; deliberately disconnecting also consumes a use.
  • Unequip an Amp before it expires to return it to your inventory with its remaining uses.
  • Kickabouts: Amps are disabled and do not lose a use in this activity.
  • Attribute caps may limit a boost. A use may still be consumed.
  • Replacing certain active consumables discards their remaining matches or boosts.

Before equipping an Amp, check its boosts, Affinity, remaining uses and warnings. [6]

Link Guide recommends · Equip an Amp for a match in which you can properly test its effect.

06

YOUR CURRENCY & ITEMS

Coins, shops and the right inventory.

Earn Grounds Coins

Matches and objectives award Grounds Coins; some items are also available as rewards. Offers may require Coins or FC Points: check the currency, requirements and expiry on the item. [7]

Open the right shop

Open World Map → Store for Amps and consumables. Buy clothing and other appearance items from World Stores in the central plaza or districts. [7]

After a purchase or reward [7]
ItemWhere to find itKeep in mind
Clothing / appearance itemsAppearance Inventory; find tops under Street Appearance.Permanent items. They cannot be sold or traded.
Amps / consumablesSeparate inventories in the Archetypes menu.Check that item's uses and requirements.
Link Guide recommends

Before spending, check your unfinished objectives and existing inventory. Our training plan does not require any purchases.

07

IMPROVE YOUR SMALL-SIDED GAME

Aim. Pass. Cover the space.

Street Football: aim manually

Shooting is manual in the small-sided Grounds formats. The fouled player must take a free kick; passing and dribbling are disabled during the designated restart. [2]

FINISHING

Direction before power

Use less power close to goal. Your player's angle, attributes and pressure from opponents affect the shot. Use finesse for curl and a chip against a keeper coming off their line; power shots need more preparation. [8]

Low Driven in FC27: Press Shoot again after charging the shot. This works with many shot types, but not with a chip. [8]

PASSING

Find the right space

Use a ground pass to a nearby open teammate, a through pass into their path, or a lobbed through pass over a defender. Use a driven ground pass for quick delivery, leaving enough room for the receiver's first touch. [9]

COMPETITIVE DEFENDING

Take control yourself

AI defenders support you more through positioning rather than automatic tackles. Manually controlled players have greater interception reach and faster jockeying. Switch players, hold your position and choose when to tackle. [10]

LINK GUIDE RECOMMENDS · A SHORT PRACTICE SESSION

  1. Finishing: Take ten shots from the same position. Change direction first, then power. Deliberately reset your aim after every miss.
  2. Passing: Play five passes to your teammate, then five into their path. Watch which option works better in each situation.
  3. Defending: Track an attack without tackling immediately. Protect the space towards goal and recover after losing possession.
08

A CLEAR VIEW & CONTROLLED MOVEMENT

Your Grounds settings.

Choose a camera that suits you

Street Football: Grounds Pro or Grounds Broadcast. Grounds Rush: Grounds Pro, Rush Tactical or Rush Broadcast. My Pro horizontal and vertical sensitivity each range from 0–100, with a default of 20. [14]

Make the drop-kick aiming display clearer

The reticle and charge indicator each have sizes from 1–5. You can change their colours. This makes them easier to see; it does not aim for you. [14]

Check your controls in Practice Arena → Pause → Button Help, or during a match in Pause → Settings → Basic Controls. The buttons depend on your platform and custom settings. [9]

Link Guide recommends

If the camera feels too hectic, reduce one sensitivity setting at a time and repeat the same drill. Try a Broadcast camera for a wider view. There is no single ideal value for everyone.

MORE FC27 MODES · SEPARATE TIPS

From 11v11 to Ultimate Team & Career.

The following set-piece and team-tactics tips apply to regular football matches. Grounds activities may have their own rules; check the board at the pitch.

Corners: guide the receiver to the ball

Aim the delivery, then the camera moves into the penalty area. Move your player, switch players and make a run towards the ball. PlayStation / Xbox: hold R1 / RB to activate Avoidance and evade opponents. Short corners do not use this sequence. [10]

Link Guide recommends · Choose a target area and a suitable receiver, then practise their run.

Free kicks: taker, contact point and power

Choose a taker based on Free Kick Accuracy, Curve and Shot Power. Set your aim, adjust the ball contact point for trajectory and spin, then control the power. Dead Ball improves set pieces and extends the trajectory preview. Practise in Learn to Play → Practice Arena or Training Center → Passing / Attacking. [11]

Link Guide recommends · Take attempts from the same position, changing only one setting at a time to understand its effect.

Runs, Dinked Passes and roles / FC IQ

PlayStation / Xbox · Curved run: tap L1 + R1 / LB + RB. Pass & Follow: L1 + R1 + X / LB + RB + A. Manually triggered runs stop after a limited distance; trigger them again if needed. Crosses and through passes require more precise directional input. [10]

Dinked Pass: Double-tap Through Pass and aim manually. Double-tapping Ground Pass produces a normal ground pass. [12]

Roles determine the available runs; Role+ and Role++ increase their urgency through greater familiarity. Attacking Spatial Awareness complements these roles. [12]

PC: new keyboard layouts and tactical shortcuts

FC27 replaces the previous Classic/Alternate keyboard layouts with WASD and Arrows. Check the bindings in the game. [13]

Official PC tactical shortcuts
KeyFunction
1–5Dynamic Tactics
F1–F4Quick Tactics
F5–F8Tactical Suggestions; Set-Piece Tactics during set pieces
F9Tactical Focus

In Rivals, check the selected input device on the kit selection screen before the match. [13]

Ultimate Team: a useful first session
  1. Open Ultimate Team from the main menu and choose a starter pack.
  2. Check Objectives → Foundations → The Journey Begins.
  3. Start with Squad Battles against the AI on Amateur or Semi-Pro.
  4. Try Beginner Moments for the basics and set pieces.
  5. Claim rewards for completed objectives after matches.

[17]

Link Guide recommends · Learn with your existing team before repeatedly changing formation or buying anything.

Career: getting started and Match Fitness

Choose Manager Career to run a team or Player Career to control one player. Download the latest squads. The Task List in the Central tab highlights priority tasks. [18]

New in FC27: Match Fitness accounts for energy and injuries; unfit players face penalties. The previous Training Plans have been removed except for Energy Recovery. Rotation, recovery and managing injuries are important. [15]

Link Guide recommends · Check your regular starters' condition before selecting the team, and plan some rotation.

Additions reviewed on 16 October 2026. Each topic applies to the mode named; Grounds Coins, Ultimate Team Coins and LG Coin are separate systems. Earlier sections retain their own review dates.

SBCs: submit Item Score or a squad?

FC27 has Simplified SBCs based on Item Score and Puzzle SBCs with squad requirements. For Simplified SBCs, choose eligible Items, check their contribution and the amount still needed, then confirm. Partial progress is saved; the main reward requires full completion.

Submissions are final: Even partial submissions permanently remove the selected Players from your Club. EA cannot restore them. Check expiry and selection before every submission. [20]

Evolutions: activate them and check two deadlines

Open Ultimate Team → Club → Evolutions. Check requirements and any costs before selecting. Set it to Active under My Evolutions, complete the objectives and claim upgrades.

“Get Within” is the activation deadline; “Expires In” is the time to complete it. Not every slot has both. An in-progress Evolution prevents using that Player in SBCs. Preview Evolution lets you compare possible combinations before applying them. [21]

Read PlayStyles instead of comparing only overall ratings

PlayStyles describe special abilities; PlayStyles+ strengthen their respective effects. In Ultimate Team, open Club → highlight a Player → Player Details → PlayStyles. Read which actions benefit. They do not directly change chemistry.

In Ultimate Team, you cannot freely swap them manually. Different Item versions and Evolutions can have different PlayStyles. [22]

Link Guide recommends · Pick one ability that suits your role and repeat the relevant action. A high overall rating does not replace this comparison.

Delay: distinguish ping, packet loss and jitter
Ping
Time for game data to reach the FC data centre and return.
Packet loss
The proportion of packets that fail to complete that trip.
Jitter
Variation in ping over time.

EA combines these readings into a Connection Score. Its Connection Quality Report helps assess the connection; a single ping reading does not explain every problem. [24]

Link Guide recommends · If play feels delayed, note the time, mode and connection type. Narrow down the fault before changing your lineup or controls.

LINK GUIDE RECOMMENDS

A clear plan for your session.

Our drills help you choose a specific goal and decide what to work on after each session.

  1. BEFORE THE MATCH

    Set just one goal

For example: spot an open teammate earlier, aim more calmly when shooting, or recover faster after losing possession. A specific goal is easier to assess after the match.

  2. DURING THE MATCH

Create space instead of chasing the ball

Keep some space between you and your teammates. Offer a passing option and agree who will provide cover. If everyone runs forward at once, you have no support after losing possession.

  3. AFTER THE MATCH

    Change one thing

Was the problem your decision or your execution? Adjust your approach first, then test a different archetype. This makes it easier to see what actually helps.

REVIEWED: 13 OCTOBER 2026

Fixed or still under investigation?

UPDATE 1.0.4 · 7 OCTOBER

Reported as fixed by EA

Fixes include a stuck loading screen when viewing the active Club in a player profile, and an incorrect post-match flow. The update includes no gameplay balance or tuning changes. [19]

FEEDBACK · 13 OCTOBER

Still under investigation

EA still lists Kickabout queues and player availability, menu performance and incorrect attribute costs as issues under investigation. This does not confirm that they have been fully fixed. [3]

Link Guide recommends: record the details of an issue

Note the game version, platform, time and affected activity. Take a screenshot before confirming unusual attribute costs. Then compare the official reports with the issue you experienced.

12

QUICK ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions.

My Street Football shots miss the goal.

Open shooting practice and check your manual aiming. A higher attribute does not replace accurate input.

I cannot find a purchase or Amp.

See Shops & inventory and Amp uses for the differences between appearance items, inventory and limited-use effects.

Which archetype is best, and where can I earn the most XP?

This guide does not offer a verified meta ranking or a guaranteed XP rate. Use the attribute table and our match plan to test your own role.

What do the tutorial checkboxes save?

They save your checklist on this device. They do not read or change an FC save. Blocking browser storage may prevent the checklist from being saved.

Can I share the guide without signing in?

Yes. In Share this guide you can copy the link or open WhatsApp. You choose whether to send it and who receives it.
