Free account saves without a wallet
Your Link Guide account is free and optional. Sign in with ChatGPT and register your Link Guide name once; no wallet or coin purchase is involved. Account backups are private. Your registered name may appear with public community contributions.
Saved guide data includes Ocarina of Time checklists, reading position and map marks; Majora’s Mask profile checklists; Mega Man X1–X8 equipment checkmarks; DQM3 monsters, chest checkmarks and inventory; the Fortnite round plan and FC 27 learning checklist. This does not import console saves or change Nintendo, Epic or EA game accounts. The randomizer notebook and practice timer under Tools remain separate and local.
- Open the guide’s progress panel and explicitly choose the device or account copy you want to use first.
- Later changes sync automatically with an internet connection. The visible save status shows local changes and the last confirmed account save. Temporary connection failures get a brief retry; if a failure persists, changes remain local and the status shows that syncing is still pending. A conflict pauses syncing until you choose a copy.
- Loading a different copy first creates a local recovery backup. All six connected guides also offer backup-file download and import. Check the confirmed account save before changing devices or clearing website data: local progress and local recovery copies can be lost that way. History or the file cache alone are different from website data. Signing out does not delete local copies.
Story or collectibles
The Ocarina of Time guide offers a direct story view and a collect view. Collect mode adds chapter-related Heart Pieces and Skulltulas below the walkthrough. Checkmarks are shared with checklists and exactly linked item pins. Collected items are marked and can be hidden. This view uses the standard release; Master Quest keeps its own routes.
Take your backup with you
Under Account & backups, optionally sync guide progress with your Link Guide account or download a file. For Ocarina of Time, you can protect the file with your own password using AES-256-GCM and PBKDF2-SHA-256. Encryption runs on your device. Restoring needs both the file and password; a forgotten password cannot be reset. This stores guide checkmarks, not console saves. A visible status separates local changes from the last confirmed account save. If copies conflict, you choose which one to use. Clearing website data can remove local copies; history and the file cache are separate. No wallet or blockchain is needed.
Reply notifications
On the community tips page, enable push for your signed-in profile and this device. Only your click opens the browser permission prompt. A generic notification is sent when someone else’s reply to your own topic is approved; it contains neither your name nor the post text. The push endpoint is linked to your profile, expires after 90 days and can be removed there. Google, Mozilla or Apple delivers it depending on the browser. Delivery and support depend on browser and operating system.
K.A.I. and sign-in
K.A.I. is a programmed guide helper. Questions and conversation context are processed in this page’s memory and are not sent to an AI provider. Only public guide files are loaded. Optional ChatGPT sign-in is a separate account feature and does not turn K.A.I. into ChatGPT. Search and K.A.I. work offline after the complete offline download.
What works offline
Open Offline & saved answers to check downloaded guide files and download any missing files while online. Wait for “Guide essentials saved offline”. Cached guides, maps, local checklists, search and K.A.I. then work offline. Public chats, account syncing, news updates, external videos and payment or blockchain checks need internet. New devices and uncached content need an initial download.
Daily chat and guest access
Guest access uses an Ano number without an email or password. This is a pseudonym, not technical anonymity. Old chat days stop appearing at 00:00 Europe/Berlin; expired data is removed from the active database on the next chat request. You can delete your own messages earlier using “Delete”. Accounts, permanent tips, hosting logs, backups and other visitors’ copies are separate. Choose “Save privately” to keep an individual useful answer for yourself; this does not publish it.
Additional scheduled maintenance is currently paused, so physical deletion exactly at midnight is not promised. Every read query independently excludes old days.
Keep useful answers privately
Choose “Save privately” to select individual daily-chat answers yourself. Up to 50 copies with text, pseudonym, room and time initially stay in this browser, including after midnight and offline. Read, export, import or remove them under Offline & saved answers. Free private account backup is used only after your choice. Local copies remain after sign-out and can be lost when website data is cleared. Removing a private copy does not delete the original public post, and vice versa. This does not automatically archive the chat or publish a community tip.
Free access and funding
Guides and free Fairy Run play need neither a donation nor a coin purchase. Ko-fi is optional external support. Marked advertising spaces currently invite enquiries; paid AdSense ads and Google’s ad script are disabled. Link Guide does not promise a permanently ad-free platform. Future activation requires the intended approval and consent checks.
How data is handled
Local guide checkmarks and settings initially stay on your device. Account saves and public contributions are sent to Link Guide when you use those online features. The page counter stores totals rather than visitor profiles. Hosting may process IP addresses and technical request data. Chat tables use daily keyed hashes of IP addresses for abuse protection. Backups are separate from immediate active-data deletion; the privacy notice explains each flow.
Video help and text guides
Text walkthroughs work independently of YouTube. Video links show language, release and channel. An embedded player is requested only by “Load video here”; “Remove video” removes it. External videos may change or become unavailable. Use the text guide or report the chapter and video ID. Link metadata checks and full playback checks are different.
Game balances and real LG Coins
Rubies are game points. Demo-LGC are an internal game balance, not withdrawable blockchain tokens. Real LG Coins are an optional Solana project with a separate wallet and transaction verification. These are explicitly different balances. Cosmetic extras are the focus; free guides and play require no coin purchase.
Verifiable references
This overview describes the current implementation. A single verified retention period for platform hosting logs is not available here, so we do not promise complete anonymity or immediate deletion from all backups.
